Since all my flat mates are Mexicans, I have the chance to experience the "real" Mexican lifestyle of an upper-class student.
For example it's pretty strange when your flat mate tells you, that naturally he didn't do any test to get his driver's licence but just "paid a bit". Apparently, nobody does the real test here, which can become dangerous, when taxi drivers have no clue about driving... Moreover, you have to pay at least every five years to renew the permit. Strange country...
I also noticed that the Mexican way of smalltalk is extremely efficient, since you can go on with it for ours without having the problem to think about new topics. When I listen to my flat mates I have the impression that the whole conversation only consist of
"whey" ("ey")
"no mames" ("don't tell me")
"cabrón" ("man!")
"qué padre" ("cool")
*please repeat infinitely*
Obviously, there doesn't have to be any content in the conversation, it's just important that you put a lot of emphasize and emotion in these four impressions - that's it.
