In Thailand you had to get used to go clubbing while small children where around you beseeching for money.

In Mexico it's totally normal that every 5 minutes a police car with emergency lights (they always have it turned on) is passing by and every now and then a convoy of 3 pickup trucks of the Federal Police comes by, each one with 3 mummed soldiers on top - heavily armed and with an additional machine gun attached to the truck:

I don't know what is more disturbing - the situation in Thailand, or the one in Mexico... As different as the circumstances are, the party people are pretty hard-nosed in both countries - starving children, or soldiers going to war? Who cares? The show most go on!
