Canistel (Yellow Sapote)

It's one of the best experiences to taste something you've never had before. Today it happened again. When I bought my beloved Cherimoyas, the vendor gave me a yellow, ball-shaped and fist-sized extra for free. Turned out to be Canistel, also known as Yellow Sapote:

I was a bit sceptical, as the Black Sapote was so tasteless - but wow! This one is incredible. A very creamy mixture of sweet potato, caramel custard and a little bit of fruity tangy flavour. Great! Now I just have to find it again...
