Burning herbs to please the spirits?! You never know in this unique mixture of Catholicism and indigenous traditions...

The other vendor wanted me to charge 12 euro to take a picture... oh yeah!

 Funny fact: The big wheel's speed was set to a "Mexican fiesta" level so to say - never saw such a thing turning sooo fast! Not quite the romantic version of big wheels I was used to :-D

Sweet bread for special occasions.

Typical dish from here: Mole poblano - sauce based on chili peppers and chocolate. However, each time I try it, it's much too sweet for me. I don't like that Mexican cuisine isn't a composition of subtle flavours, but just - WHAM - stunning your taste buds with sweetness and at the next moment with saltiness... ever heard of careful seasoning?!

This one was pretty good for Mexican standards - corn flour bread with bean puree, potatoes, sliced cactus pads, cheese and mushrooms. Due to its shape it's named after a type of Mexican sandal: Huarache. Ok, they use names of shoes for their food - no wonder...
